Here's the little gal we have been waiting for.............Midnight Maiden is here, and she arrived as black as midnight on none other than Halloween! Marathon made history with this one. She is as black as they come, with no spots of any color. We knew Marathon covered bay black, but we had no idea he could produce a striking, blue black solid until we saw this little girl. She's so dark, her feautures are very hard to photograph.

As if the color is not enough, Midnight Maiden is none other than Golden Girl's half sister (Golden Girl was a 9 time champion in halter). And then Midnight Maiden has 8 halter champions won by her sire Accoyo Marathon and 4 halter champions won by her dam (including a national championship).

At her first show, Interstate 80, Midnight Maiden was standing in second behind the color champion, our own Black Jewel. And the best part is that Midnight Maiden was standing ahead of all the browns. They mixed the brown and black females for that class.

Update: Midnight Maiden has been bred to 19 time champion Jacob Black. Look for a fantastic cria come fall.

Sorry the pictures are out of date. I tried today, 1-13-2013, but the pictures didn't come out with her dark coloring. I will keep trying!
